Professional Development Workshop for Physics Teachers

The educational research and development team at Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) is currently designing, developing and testing an innovative web-based learning environment called InterLACE (Interactive Learning and Collaboration Environment) to support high school students in carrying out collaborative inquiry-based physics lessons. The InterLACE team will be hosting a free Professional Development workshop August 13th – 17th from 9AM-3PM for interested Physics teachers. There are 20 spots available, applications will reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.
Teacher Professional Development

The workshop will focus on both the InterLACE tools and the pedagogical aspects related to inquiry-based learning.  During the professional development workshop, teachers will:   

  • Explore collaborative and inquiry-based pedagogy
  • Participate in hands-on activities incorporating the InterLACE software tool-kit
  • Develop lesson plans and activities for 2012-2013 school year
  • Complete additional nightly assignments (1 to 2 hours) outside of workshop hours in order to receive full 40 PDPs
  • Receive lunch each day
